Lymphatic filariasis is known as elephantiasis caused by filarial worms which are parasitic and are spread via mosquito in humans. Lymphatic filariasis or elephantiasis is marked by swelling of various body parts like limbs, breasts or genitals. Usually elephantiasis is used for extreme condition of lymphatic filariasis in which damage to the lymphatic system leads to the blocked lymph which leads to swelling and enlargement of body parts leading towards disability.
