⏩AIDS STANDS FOR-Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome....

⏩ It is a virus that attacks human immune system. A person effected by this is said HIV positive.AIDS is the syndrome caused by Human Immunodeficiency virus. This is a virus that attacks the human immune system. HIV remains in the body damaging the immune system and the person remains infectious and is able to spread the virus to others. Over time, as HIV damages the immune and weakens it, one may acquire various illnesses due to the damage done by the virus. The person infected by this virus is prone to all sorts of diseases as his immune system is weakened and he does not have any resistance against any diseases. Hence he is affected by a group of diseases hence it is called as syndrome.

⭕ AIDS - Acquired Immuno deficiency syndrome

HIV causes AIDS and interferes with the body's ability to fight infections.

Within a few weeks of HIV infection, flu-like symptoms such as fever, sore throat and fatigue can occur. Then the disease is usually asymptomatic until it progresses to AIDS. AIDS symptoms include weight loss, fever or night sweats, fatigue and recurrent infections.

The virus can be transmitted through contact with infected blood, semen or vaginal fluids.

By blood products (unclean needles or unscreened blood)

By having unprotected vaginal, anal or oral sex.

By mother to baby by pregnancy, labour or nursing.
