Q) How can uh suggest that the travelers died with the cold within? Enumerate the sins found in Manning with reference to the poem 'THE COLD WITHIN'!

All of the six humans, each possessing a stick of wood, were trapped by chance in biting cold. The fire was sinking and was in need of logs ( wooden peices ) to be kept alive. It is understood as the fire of compassion in their hearts is dying. To keep it burning what they needed was a log of wood, but they didn't use that. Thus, by the end, each of them dies from the cold within.


It is suggested that the travelers died with the cold within theirselves, as each of them had a problem with the survival of someone ( to whome they didn't like ). And at the end of the poem, their rudeness and thoughts of revenge becomes the cause of their death. Their logs tight in their hands invited their death.


These six people die not of the cold outside but of the cold within their mind and hearts.
