Finding LCM by Listing multiples.

Ex-

The multiples of 3 are 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, 27, 30, 33, 36. 39, ..

The multiples of 4 are 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 32, 36, 40, 44, ..

The common multiples of 3 and 4 are 12, 24, 36, .. The lowest common multiple of 3 and 4 is 12.

Hence, LCM of 3 and 4 is 12.

Finding LCM by Prime Factorisation

Step 1: Find prime factors of all the given numbers.

Step 2: Encircle the common prime factors.

Step 3: Take only one prime factor out of each set of common prime factors, multiply them and all the other prime factors that are not common to obtain the LCM of the given numbers.

Finding LCM by Division Method

Step 1: Arrange the given numbers in a row separated by commas.

Step 2: Obtain a number which divides exactly, at least two of the numbers in the row.

Step 3: Divide the numbers which are divisible exactly by the number obtained in step 2 and write the quotient below each one of them. Carry forward the numbers which are pot divisible.

Step 4: Repeat step 2 and step 3 till the last row has only co-prime numbers (numbers with no common factors except 1)

Step 5: Find the product of all the divisors and all the co-prime numbers left in the last row to obtain the required LCM of the given numbers
