emasculation means taking out the stamen from the flower for hybridization...this technique is easy because stamen can be easily removed from flower as compared to stigma....

Definition :-
The term "emasculation" refers to the process in which anthers are removed from bisexual flowers.
When :-
The process of emasculation is carried out before the anther dehisces.
Why :-
The process of emasculation is carried out to obtain desired characters in the progeny in cross breeding experiments.
Extra Information :-
- The anthers are removed by using forceps.
- The stigma of the emasculated flowers are covered with bags made up of butter paper to prevent unwanted pollination.
- The process of covering the stigma of emasculated flowers is known as "bagging".
