employee works in a company on a contract of 30 days on the condition that he will receive rupees 2oo for each day he works and he will be fined Rs 20 for each day he is absent if he received 3800 in all how many days did you remain absent

Let x be number of days absent.

30−x is number of days worked.

He gets 200rs when he works.

He gets - 20rs when he does not work (fine)

200(30−x)+−20x=3800 6000−200x−20x=3800 −220x=3800−6000=−2200 x=2200220=10

So he was absent for 10 days.

If present 30 days he will recieve =30×200 =6000
He get =3800
Money lost=6000-3800=2200
Money fined for each day if he is absent =20
Absent days =2200/200 =11
Hence,he was absent for 11 days
