sahil6999: actually my question is how empty set cartician product finite set is empty set

Given two sets A and B, we define the cartesian product

A x B = {(a, b): a ∈ A, b ∈ B}

Here (x, y) refers to an ordered pair with x and y being the first and second components respectively.

Now if we assume A = Ø, then A x B = {(a, b): a ∈ A, b ∈ B}, but here the cardinality of A is 0 as it is an empty set, thus there is no value for a resulting in A x B also being an empty set.
