Geoffrey chaucer was the father of English literature. He was born in London. He was the English author ,poet, bureaucrat, philosopher & diplomat.

He is best known for The Canterbury Tales.
His works are The book of the Duchess, The house of Fame , The Legend of Good Women & Troilus & Criseyde.
He died at the age of 56 on 25th October 1400. He was the first poet to be buried in poets corner of Westminster Abbey.
