But he knew that he would miss it. Yet, he ran and ran until he spotted a bulky red bus rumbling past him. The kids inside pulled rude faces at Kalpana, who was sweaty and worn out from running that fast.

Embarrassed, Kalpana trudged his way to school. Since he was more than ten kilometres away from the school, Kalpana kept his head down and guiltily stole a bike that was not not locked.

Suddenly, he heard a yell from behind him. Turning around,  Kalpana recognised the dragon tattoo on the guy’s neck bones. It was the school bully. Unsure of what to do, Kal jumped onto the bike and pedalled away as fast as he could.

Full of shame, Kal arrived at school and left the bike at the school gate before running into class.
