# Our planet, earth is a very complex from the interior. The interior can be understood only by indirect evidence like mining, gravitation and seismic activity ( earthquakes and volcanoes ) because no one has nor can reach the interior of the earth.

@ Interior of the Earth

>> We live on the outer solid surface of the earth called lithosphere (land). Like an onion the earth is made of several concentric layers one after another from the surface till the core. The three layers are crust , mantle and core.

# Crust

>> The outermost solid layer of the earth's surface (lithosphere) is known as crust . It is the thinnest and least dense of all the layers and brittle in nature.

# Mantle

>> The layer beneath the crust is called the mantle. It extends to a depth of 2,900 km. It has higher density than the crust. The mantle is further divided into the upper mantle and the lower mantle. The upper mantle contains a weaker zone (asthenosphere).

#Core

>> The innermost layer is the core. This layer is the thickest of all the layers. The core is subdivided into the outer core and the inner core. Outer core is in liquid state, whereas the inner core is solid and its mass is very dense.
