Enlist five characteristic features of the Peninsular Plateau​

(i) It is a table land composed of the old crystalline, igneous and metamorphic rocks.

(ii) It is formed due to the breaking and drifting of the Gondwana land.

(iii) It has broad and shallow valleys and rounded hills.

(iv) It consists of two broad divisions, namely, the Central Highlands and the Deccan Plateau.

(v)The central highlands are wider in the west but narrower in the east.

1))Peninsular Plateau is a table landmass which is a storehouse of rich fossil fuels

2))It is surrounded by water from the three sides hence named plateau.

3))It is formed of crystalline metamorphic rocks.

4))It is divided into 2 -: The Deccan plateau south of the Narmada river and The Central Highlands towards northwest , north of Narmada river.

5))States-: MP , CG , Maharashtra Andhra Pradesh Telangana etc.

6)) It contains shallow valleys and the soil is not as much fertile as in northern plains coz of non perennial rivers ( peninsular rivers) flow..
