Enthalpy of formation of HF and HCl are 161 kJ and -92 kJ respectively. Which of the following statements is incorrect?

Answer :

As enthalpy of formation of HF(161 kJ) is more than the enthalpy of formation of HCl(-92 kJ). So, HF is more stable than HCl and as energy is released in formation of HF and HCl, these both are exothermic compounds.

Hence, Option 'C' is the answer.
