Enzymes are made up of proteins which accelerates the rate of the reaction. It lowers the activation energy and converts the reactants into the substrate. The increased temperature increases the kinetic energy of the enzymes which further accelerates the activity of the enzyme but at the temperature higher than the optimum temperature the enzyme gets denatured as the peptide bonds between the proteins molecules breaks which disrupts the structure of enzymes.

Enzymes :

★ These are bio catalysts. Here bio means living and catalyst are ysed to increase rate of reaction.

★ These are proteinaceous. [ Except ribozyme, ribonuclease - P ]

★ These helps in increasing the rate of reactions [ say metabolism ].

★ These aren't able to start any reaction.

★ These can't change equilibrium of the reaction but helps in reaching equilibrium at a faster rate.

★ These are very specific.

★ These are highly efficient. [ Turned over number → Number of substrate molecules converted into product per unit time. ]

★ Active site : Site to which substrate binds. [ Tertiary structure ]

★ Before reaction ( Amount and structure of enzyme ) = After reaction ( Amount and structure of enzyme )
