Equivalent mass is equal to molecular mass/acidity in case of base and molecular mass/basicity in case of acid and molecular mass /valency of metal in case of salt .

Molecular mass of NH3=1×N+3×H=1×14+3×1=17

In case of ammonia equivalent mass=17/1=17
