Equal lengths of magnesium ribbons are taken in test tubes A and B. Hydrochloric acid (HCl) is added to test tube A, while acetic acid (CH₃COOH) is added to test tube B. Amount and concentration taken for both the acids are same. In which test tube will the fizzing occur more vigorously and why?

We have been given a question and we have been given options and we have to choose the correct option from the given options.


The question given to us is that with HCL or with Acetic acid will the strips of mg ribbon react vigorously. The answer is HCL.


That is because HCL is a strong acid whereas acetic acid is a weak acid.
