1)amplitude is 2

2)initial phase of the particle is π/4

       the equation of particle is y=sin wt+cos wt

        multiplying and dividing with √2, we get

               y=√2(1/√2 sin wt+ 1/√2 cos wt)

               y=√2(cosπ/4*sin wt+sinπ/4*cos wt)

               y=√2(sin(wt+π/4))

             y=a sin(wt+Ф)

       here a=√2 and Ф=π/4

hence the amplitude a²=2 with a phase difference of π/4
