we know,
y=mx+c

when passing through the point (2,4). then x=2,y=4
4=2m+c.......(1)
when passing through the point (-2,3) then,
x=-2 and y=3
so, 3=-2m+c........(2)
we get from (1) and (2).....
c=7/2,m=1/4
so, y=1/4x+7/2
or,4y=x+14
or,x-4y+14=0 it is the answer.
