y Essay on Global Warming
In this essay I will be talking about the causes, effects and solutions of global warming. Global warming is caused when factories and cars burn fossil fuels and let off carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide in the atmosphere plays an important role in warming the earth by trapping the earth's heat, in what's called the greenhouse effect. The burning of fossil fuels has generally increased the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. The carbon dioxide then puts a layer on the greenhouse gasses. The greenhouse gasses let in rays from the sun but don't let them out.
Another threat linked to global warming is the destruction of the ozone layer. High up in the atmosphere, a layer of ozone protects the earth from the suns ultra violet rays which cause skin cancer. Chemical compounds known as CFCs are gradually destroying the ozone layer. CFCs are used in some aerosol cans polystyrene and refrigerators.
Two of the main causes for global warming are cars and factories. Factories use fossil fuels to burn so they can make what ever they're making. Cars let off fumes from petrol that go up into the atmosphere. The three main fossil fuels are coal, oil and gas. Fossil fuels took millions of years to come about- and only take minutes to burn. Once fossil fuels have been taken that's it they're gone and will take another million years to come about. Fossil fuels will disappear if the world doesn't do any thing about it. Experts predict that global warming will cause temperatures to rise, melting the polar ice caps, raising sea levels to flood coastal areas and resulting in large-scale changes in climate and agriculture around the world.

Explanation:

                                  Global warming

Global warming is a part of climate change and is partially caused by increased greenhouse gases from burning of fossil fuels, deforestation, agriculture, and other industrial causes.

The Earth's temperature had already warmed by 1°C compared to pre-industrial levels. This temperature rise may appear small, but small rises in temperature translate into big changes for the world’s climate. This is because the amount of extra energy needed to increase the world’s temperature, even by a little, is vast. This extra energy is like force-feeding the global climate system.

·Hotter days

·Rising sea level

·oceans are warming

Melting glaciers, early snowmelt, and severe droughts will cause more dramatic water shortages and increase the risk of wildfires in the American West.

Rising sea levels will lead to coastal flooding on the Eastern Seaboard, especially in Florida, and in other areas such as the Gulf of Mexico.

Allergies, asthma, and infectious disease outbreaks will become more common due to increased growth of pollen-producing ragweed, higher levels of air pollution, and the spread of conditions favorable to pathogens and mosquitoes.
