I never believed in ghosts, spirits, paranormal activities. I thought all these were untrue and are for the sake of stories and movies until one day I experienced a horrific incident at my friend's place. It was one of my friend's birthday and we all friends were both excited and scared because of the house party. My friend's house is believed to be haunted, especially the dark cellar in the back corner of his basement sends chills down my spine whenever I think about that incident. It was on a summer holiday, two years before. My friend's parents had an important function to attend to, so I volunteered to accompany him till they return.
As soon as his parents left, we closed our textbooks and got ready to play. In the middle of our game, we both heard a moaning sound from the basement cellar. After gaining courage, we both started to move towards the basement. As we walked towards the basement, we felt that the air surrounding us went still.
The door to the cellar was half open. Hesitantly I reached my hand out to push the door to open fully and slowly crept my way inside followed by my friend. We saw many unwanted kinds of stuff dumped over there and our eyes fell on a doll that looked so sad and worried. As we moved closer, we noticed that the doll blinked its eyes. We stood speechless. As we were running out of thoughts, we failed to see that the doll is moving towards us.
We heard a feeble yet strong voice from behind us telling " Hello Children". Frightened, we screamed in the highest pitch and ran as fast as we can in the direction of the door. As soon as we came out, we shut the door tightly and ran out of the house. We were waiting in the neighbour home till his parents came back. It was that day that I decided that I will never step-in in his house no matter what!
