जयप्रकाश नारायण के नेतृत्व में हुए जान आन्दोलन के बारे में आपने न सुना हो , ऐसा तो केवल संयोग है । इन्दिरा गांधी के नेतृत्व वाली सरकार के जड़ को हिलाना लोहे के चने चबाने से कम नही था किन्तु इस आंदोलन की सफलता के पीछे का सच तो जगजाहिर है। आखिर किसे नही पता है कि जयप्रकाश जी ने छात्र के सहयोग से ही यह कृतिमान रचा।
छात्र की ताकत का अंदाज़ा इस बात से लगाया जाना आसान हो गया कि वह चाहे तो देश में क्रांति ला सकते हैं।

छात्र यानि ज्ञान को अर्जन करता हो । इसे कहने में मुझे कोई अतिश्योक्ति नही होगी की छात्र देश को उन्नति की ओर अग्रसर करने वाला वह माध्यम है जिसके बल पर जग जीता जा सकता है । छात्र सजग नागरिक होते हैं । वे देश के प्रति उत्तरदायी तो होते ही हैं साथ ही साथ देश के राजनैतिक पैठ की भी समझ रखते हैं । वे अपना मौलिक कर्तव्य जानते है , और मौलिक अधिकार को समझते हैं। तभी तो कहा जाता है कि "एक छात्र चाहे तो देश की गरिमा को सूर्य की तरह चमकीला बना सकता है , या फिर चाँद के धब्बे की तरह सर्मिन्दिगी महसूस कर सकता है । "

भारत एक विकाशील राष्ट्र है । खास बात तो यह है कि भारत युवाओ का देश है । यह सोने में सुहागा ही तो है कि दुनिया में सबसे अधिक छात्र बल भारत संचित किये हुआ है । आये दिन भारत की राजनैतिक स्थिति में बदलाव आया है । भ्रस्टाचार चरम सीमा पर है । शिक्षा में गिरावट आयी है । बेरोजगारी में वृद्धि , आर्थिक मंदी देश को जकड़े हुए हैं। ऊपर से सरकार का झुठे वायदे जनता को परेशान की हुई है । अतः कुल मिलाकर कहा जाय तो छात्र को देश की मनोदशा बदलने हेतु आगे आना होगा । शिक्षित होना होगा , आपने आत्मबल का पूर्ण उपयोग करना होगा । भ्रष्ट्र अधिकारी का बहिष्कार करना होगा । राजनैतिक में अपनी सहभागिता बढ़ानी होगी । शिक्षा में सुधार लाना होगा ।
तब हमारा भारत पुनः सोने की चिड़िया कहलाने योग्य होगा।
