Essay of 400 words on one lie leads to another
Answers
This puts a smile on my face. All our lives we are told lying is bad. It’s a sin. And then you become a writer of fiction. Now you have the freedom to tells as many lies as you want to because now you’re creating a story.
When we go to read a book, we don’t think about how it’s a completely made up story. A story the writer has spent hour upon hour writing and editing all from the made up story in the recess of the author’s head. Personally, I can’t wait for the day when my first book is finally in print and other people are reading it. I love how one lie can lead to another forming one story after the other.
When a person lies once, he starts a circle of lies. It becomes a vicious chain that never ends, where the liar falls deeper and deeper into a grave that he dug for himself. ... Anna had to lie to her mother, to save the poor security guard and told her that it was Anna who had left the gate open.
Answer:
Whenever you ask "is it ever okay to lie”, people always answer as “it depends on the situation”. Maybe some of you may consider the consequences that the lie may lead to, or the motivation of the person who tells the lie. But for me, it’s definitely a “No”.
You may then ask me, haven’t you ever lie? Of course everyone lie, including me. Lies are used to gloss over something you don’t want others to know. The motivation of lying can be virtue, can be evil, or including both. So that’s what you are arguing – the virtue lies. This leads to another question – What is a “virtue lie”? A virtue lie can be an act of protecting someone from being hurt, a virtue lie can be an act of facilitating the “best” consequence for the majority. The have one similarity – the liars “assume” the results of lying and telling truth. But who knows the actual results? We cannot predict the future. You lie because you think lying can lead to a better result, although you got a virtue motivation of lying, but a wrong assumption may even put you into a much worsen situation. You can’t simply agree that lying is okay when you have a virtue starting point as you can’t guarantee a better result after lying.
We cannot guarantee the result of lying, but we can guarantee one point and it is always true, lying is an act of cheating which is something “wrong”. For instance, a mother got a cancer but only her son knows. Her son attempted to stop the doctor from telling her the truth as he didn’t want his mother suffering from depression. Some may see the son was doing something right. Well, I don’t. I would rather describe this as filial instead of right. Because the son hinder his mother from knowing something that she should and got the right to know – in other words, it’s lying. What if his mother uncovered the lie and felt disappointed on her son and much more depressed?
The lies are harmful as the intention of the person and the effects that cause the lie, that factors define how bad can become a lie. This is a tool for people who want to achieve their goals and make profits without doing the job properly.
We human beings are liars by itself, already have lying inside is more, we know that lie to us and let us lie, there are also situations where one is constantly lying to make believe it's true, this is called "self belief". Today it seems that people do not care about the fact of hiding the truth, although some already been turned into an art. There is a kind of lying that is what makes it compassionately or when positive results are provided without generating significant deception, does not necessarily harm the feelings of others "free" way; on the other hand there is another kind of liar, this is the one that takes you into the blood.
