Non violence is the highest Dharma”, to understand and realize the inner meaning of this dharma, Emperor ASHAKA took long time. It was not that easy, that in a day he realized value of words. His mind only changed after the damage had already been done.
A destructive, plan during and killing of many lives, he realized. After the war of KALINGA, he understood that war and killing is not the only solutions. There is some other way also. Blood bath of KALINGA changed his mind. He decided that since then, there would not be war and killings.
