Hi friend,

Missile man of India, an indomitable spirit points to one great person. Well, everyone knows it. Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the 11th President of India. His full name is Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam. He was born on October 15, 1931 in Rameshwaram.

He was awarded with India's three most prominent awards, The Bharat Ratna, Padma Vibhushan and Padma Bhushan.

He attended St. Joseph's college and went on to earn a degree in aeronautical Engineering from the Madras institute of Technology(MIT). After graduating from MIT, Kalam took up the position of chief scientist at DRDO. He then shifted to ISRO. Kalam turned out be successful each time. He was the Project director of SLV-3, India's first indigenously designed and produced satellite launch vehicle.
Rejoining DRDO in 1982, Kalam produced a number of missiles that earned him the nickname, Missile man of India.

Kalam was elected by The Hindu nationalist NDA. Both INC and BJP supported Kalam. He easily won the election as the 11th President of India

Kalam wrote several books including his autobiography, Wings of fire. He also wrote numerous books like India's 2020, Mission India etc.

There is a lot to learn from Abdul Kalam.

Kalam was an average student i school but had a strong desire to learn more about the world. This enthusiasm and thirst for knowledge stayed with him his entire life.

Kalam would begin his day at 4. Kalam used kerosene lamps when there was no electricity. He would study till 11 p.m. It was this perseverance that made an average student a successful scientist.

At a students' convocation at IIT Varanasi, Kalam was invited as Chief guest. He refused to sit in the chair offered to him as it was bigger than the other chairs. He offered it to the Vice-Chancellor.

APJ Abdul Kalam has given all his life savings and earnings to a trust called PURA.

Kalam dreamt of seeing India having sophisticated satellite programs, missiles and nuclear science powers. He was a good leader too. In his last moments too, he was addressing students at IIM, Shillong.

Here are some of his quotes:

Learning gives creativity, creativity leads to thinking, thinking provides knowledge, knowledge makes you great.

Success is when your signature changes into autograph.

You cannot change your future, but you can change your habits and surely your habits will change your future.

Dream, Dream, Dream. Dreams transform into thoughts and thoughts result in action.

Hope it helps...   : )
