The Assembly Hall was another public building at Mohenjo-Daro. It was a square hall of 25 × 25 meters. It had twenty big pillars to support the high-pitched roof. These pillars were arranged in four rows of five pillars each. In this hall, the rulers held their meetings and it is said that it also housed the municipal office which had the charge of town planning and sanitation.
