Plzz mark it as brainliest answer...... Child Labour refers to the situation where minor boys and girls are engaged into commercial activities. Child Labour is a big social problem. Very often we see some minor boys and girls are working in the tea stalls, restaurants, and hotels and in the small shops. In some big industries also, minor boys and girls have been working for full working hours. At present in the agricultural sector, they were working with their parents or other workers. These minor workers are called child labourers. The poverty is the main reason which has forced the children to work. As a result, the children do not get the time for education. As they have to accept hard work before their maturity, they lose their health and they are deprived of having the scope for spiritual, psychological and cultural development. It is altogether inhuman to engage the children as laborers. William Blake, the great poet and Charles Dickens, the novelist raised their voice of protest against it for the first time. They have exposed the misery of child labourers in their many writings. Afterwards, many effective rules and regulations have been passed against the cruel system. In India, child labour system has become a problem to the society. Though in the Factory Act some rules are framed for the unemployment of labor at a specified age, the employment of the child labour has not been totally stopped. Thus, it violates the Constitution of India. Only the law cannot protect the children from being engaged in hard work and becoming the labourers. Anti-poverty programme should be taken in a vast way and that should be applied all over the country as a whole. And, a comprehensive propaganda planning against child labour should have to be taken which will make the people conscious about their problem.

Child Labour - A threat to modern society

" Child is meant to learn and not to earn"

Child labour is one of the most commonly found raw forms of illegal employment of children. People generally get misconceptions regarding child labour and child work.

A person below the age of 14 years is considered to be a child and is considered as juvenile by the courts all across the countries. Child labour is a form of employment in which people employ small children facing poverty, to work in harsh and dangerous environments.

Child work refers to the legally allowed work that can be done by a child. E.g. Playing games is what a child is considered to do, but small works like cooking, gardening, washing dishes, serving food in home, etc. are considered as legal activities. But even these legal activities if done under harsh environments with bonded labour is called child labour.

A child serving tea in tea stalls, Child working in firework factories, selling books on roads are considered to be different forms of Child labour.

Since it is a majorly debated topic across the globe, all countries are taking enough measures to prevent such activities. In India, "Child Labour Act - 1986" states that any child being employed as a bonded labour under compulsion or any other forms, is considered to be an offence and the person ( accused) who does this can be framed under this act with a minimum fine of Rs. 50,000 and also will have to serve a jail term for minimum 2 years under non-bailable section.

Even though the country enhances many measures it is upto the people and citizens who must enact accordingly.

Therefore, if you cant make a child learn atleast make his/her childhood bright rather than employing them.

"There is no excuse, Child Labour is an abuse..."
