Jawahar Lal Nehru was fond of both children and roses. He said that children were like the rosebuds in a garden which should be carefully and lovingly nurtured, as they were the future of the nation and the citizens of tomorrow. Children also loved him very much and gave him the endearing name of Chacha Nehru.

Jawahar Lal Nehru birth is celebrated as a Childrens day in all over India. Most schools have cultural programmes for the day, with the students managing it all. We all should learn the true essence of children’s day which is to understand the significance of childhood in our lives so it should be celebrated by the parents also along with their kids. It is our duty to make children’s day special for our child. You can also visit to some NGO or children’s home on this day with your kids to teach then the real significance of this day.

Children day in Hindi known as “Bal Diwas falls on November 14th every year as a tribute to great leader and India’s first prime minister Jawahar Lal Nehru, because of his love for the children his birthday is celebrated as Children’s day.On November 14, 1889 Jawahar Lal Nehru was born to an eminent lawyer Motilal Nehru and his wife Swaroop Rani at Allahabad. Young Children are considered to be the wealth of every nation. That is why , Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru said that the real wealth of any country is anyhow , safe in school not in banks. Children are the axis of a family , society and the nation.

Every year , Children's Day is celebrated all over the world in the memory of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. It is a known fact that Nehru had a lot of immense love for children. He used to mix with children as if he was one amongst them. That's why all children used to call him " Chacha Nehru "

Nehru gave his birthday , 14th November as a gift to them to see a broad smile on their faces. He loved their innocence , honesty and kindness. All the schools all over the country , celebrate Children's Day by arranging different events like debates , dances , songs , plays , etc. Such types of programmes are carried out in many states also.

On this Children's Day , we should think about the welfare of children. The government should take strong actions to impart primary education to each and every student children. Firstly , child labour should be completely eradicated from the society. Teachers must be vigilant about the participation of the students in various competitions etc.

Children must be appreciated by giving prizes for their excellences in any of the fields so that they can become more and more confident and encouraged. There should be strong foundation on which the whole of education system can stand firmly, confidently with heads helf high .

Thus , On this day , we must get the cooperation from all citizens and celebrate this Children's Day.

A very Happy Children's Day to all !!

Thank you !
