Explanation:

The Delhi elections for the Legislative Assembly seats was conducted on the 8th of February, 2020. This election, for a term of five years, was fought between the candidates of the major parties such as the ruling AAP, and the NDA coalition under the BJP.

Through the release of their manifestos, the AAP continues to focus on people- oriented schemes such as the free electricity till 200 units, free water, free bus rides for women and students etc. It also included various other schemes in it's manifesto.

The BJP, on the other hand, focus on the corruption issue, clean water and air pollution issues. It also tries to lure voters with its girl education, garbage free Delhi, construction of road from Delhi that will enable travelers to reach Mumbai in 12 hours etc, among others.

But with the successful 'rule' of the Aam Admi Party in the previous term, the people seem t want more of it and elected the running party into power again. The AAP won by an absolute majority, getting 62 seats out of the 70 seats available. The remaining 8 seats were given to the BJP. Thus, the election was a reclaimed victory for the Arvin Kejriwal led AAP, signifying the faith of the people on them.
