Farmers are producers of food grains, vegetables, fruits, eggs, and dairy products. If they go on strike, life will come to a standstill.
Agriculture and related services are the backbone of any country’s economy. The consequences of farmers going on strike may have far reaching. Agriculture provides raw material for many industries such as sugar industry, bakery and food products, dairy products, etc.
Agricultural goods and articles are consumed by each and every household, office, etc. The hotel industry will also come to stand still; similarly restaurants, Dhabas, etc. will also be affected terribly.
Thousands of people will lose employment; all those unemployed people will lose purchasing power; the demand for things in the market will dip drastically. On the other hand supply of food articles will also be minimum. The economy will be drastically slowed down.
So, we see if farmers go on strike, there will be chaos in the country. The Government should never let farmers go on strike.
