                                    IF I WERE A PAINTER

Sketching is almost everything. It is the painter's identity, his style, his conviction, and then color is just a gift to the drawing. I am following Nature without being able to grasp her, I perhaps owe having become a painter to flowers.

“Painting is just another way of keeping a diary.” “If you could say it in words, there would be no reason to paint.” “The only time I feel alive is when I'm painting.” “Create with the heart; build with the mind.”

Painting something that defies the law of the land is good. Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.” “You must have chaos within you to give birth to a dancing star.” “Art is the lie that enables us to realize the truth.”

The demons you have are what motivate you to make your art. This is what drives the detective, this is what drives the painter, this is what drives the writer: a conflicting urge to forget pain and at the same time remember it and fight for some kind of justice. I know these powerful things are inside of me and everyone in some way or another.
