Mahatma Gandhi, the revered ' Bapu' and our ' Father of the Nation' was the man of ideals.A man who could foresee the effects that Independence would have eventually had in those times of perilous caste and religious conflicts. With his ardent followers taking over the mantle of Government, bureaucracy and all important facets of society, his preachings did reach last mile and we can see its effect. Starting from the Non-Alingned movement during infamous Cold War era, Jawaharlal Nehru went with full confidence for Non- Violence as peace through a very tactful foreign policy. Then comes the complete removal of untouchability and caste based discrimination which Gandhi fought for so vehemently.India's continuous stride for Nuclear Disarmament of the world is also an effect of lasting legacy. In fact , right from Independence to even present times Gandhian principles have always been the guide for our internal as well as external policies. The famous ' Swacch Bharat' mission initiated by Narendra Modi led NDA Government is a modern day implementation of what Gandhiji did ages ago. It was his view to do ones chores by his own and to consider all citizens as equal. The continuous focus of successive Governments in terms of political, social and economic inclusion of masses is what Gandhiji stood for during his time
Gandhian principles have shared international policies with countries such as South Africa still continue to bear the fruit of his contributions

In short, If we look all around us we can see Mahatma Gandhi in it. Just that our eyes of the mind needs to be broadened
