Kanaklata Barua who is known as Birbala was born on 22nd December, 1924. Her parents were Krishna Kanta and Karneshwari Barua. When she was five her mother was died and her father also died when she was thirteen. She couldn't study because he had to take responsibility of her siblings.
Kanaktala joined as a freedom fighter in Mrityu Bahini. This bahini started some operation to hoist the flag in the local police station. Kanaklata took a part of this. At last Kanaklata was killed in the police station at the age of 17 years. She was died on 20th September 1942.
