Two presentations at the workshop addressed the use of technologies to repress political change, perpetuate conflict, or otherwise undermine peacebuilding agendas. Countries, organizations, and individual response to the application of technology to peacebuilding, they can be expected to both counter those applications and use technologies for their own ends. Peacebuilders need to recognize these countervailing forces and plan and act accordingly if they are to make progress in reducing conflict and violence.

Ivan Sigal, executive director of Global Voices, which conveys to global audiences the voices of bloggers, writers, digital media activists, and translators who work in the developing world, began his examination of the misuses of technology by analyzing one of the two broad themes of the workshop: the means used to shape conflicts.

Conflict involves contestation, and those involved—including peacebuilders—have both intention and agency. Thus the activists represented by Global Voices have agency and seek to shape or influence their communities, as do their opponents in governments. Many of these activists use a collaborative and distributed form of knowledge to push ideas forward.

Technology is said to be a boon for today's generation, and especially to students. But do you really think so.Yes its true that technology helps us in many ways. They provide really knowledgeable study material to students, comforts them in their bad time through movies, musics.We can know about the whole eorld by just sitting at our homes. And one of the greatest boon of technology that teenagers think is social media. It also helps us to stay connected with our friends and family sitting far away from us.But on the other side if u thinks deeply on all the above advantages then u will find hidden disadvantages in that. For example the study material a child use to complete his assigment doesn't not provide them with any knowledge, what a child do is just copy and paste.Where we are connected with our miles away relatives, we are not really attached to aur parents sitting next to us. Yes social media is the trend of today's generation but what about all those cyber crimes that a child suffer froms. It doesnt not end here. On one hand we are getting all the information by just sitting at our homes and on the other hand we are becoming lazy day by day............so by reading all these points we came to know that the technology which used to be a boon had turned into a curse because of overusing it. So its better to use technology but lesser.
