I am mentioning some important points related to Gandhiji's philosophy and principles.
His philosophy is named "Nai Talima" - Best Education For All". He preferred education in local languages rather than in English medium. Education must impart life lessons rather than learning what is inside books. One should become wise rather than have just knowledge. Educate one to be useful to the society and not learning literature.
A complete allround development of a person from moral, social, physical point of view rather than only intellectual development - this is the form that is ideal. Children should learn handicrafts , arts, drawing, etc. to learn in an open environment without any stress. Open free thinking in place of slavery attitude is needed. Children should develop themselves into a free independent India. There should not be any taboos that restrict one's thinking and development.
Education should not be just vocation oriented and just career minded. It should make a complete person. Education must lead a person to a spiritual life. Education must enlighten a person's mind. He believed that education was to be passed from one (guru) to another. There should be a direct interaction from the Guru to the disciple. The manner of teaching could be the best suited to them. Many of those principles are implemented over the last few decades, even though not in the name of Nai Talim.
