Kabaddi is an Indian game, it is played in open field. There are two parties to begin the game. The parties can have any number of players. Sometime twenty boys play. But the game can be played even by two players.
The field: Kabaddi is played in open playground. The field is divided into two parts by drawing a straight line. The line is known as pala. It is the deciding factor of the game.
The Game of Kabaddi: There is a referee, he asks the players to be ready. Spectators sit silently around the field. A player goes to the other side, after crossing the pala, he says, ‘Kabaddi Kabaddi’. He tries to touch the player of the opposite team. The player of the opposite team tries to catch him. Then the player of the opposite team takes his chance. He also says, ‘Kabaddi Kabaddi’, in this way the game goes on.
Scoring points: The player of the team touches the player of the opposite team while saying “Kabaddi Kabaddi”. He wins a point. Sometime the player saying “Kabaddi, Kabaddi” is caught by a member of opposite team. He loses a point. The team scoring more points in the fixed time wins the game.
Why I love this game? There are many reasons for my choice. It’s an Indian game, and it is not costly at all. There is no trouble preparing the field, no extra effort required. It makes us disciplined.
