Fuel is a natural resource that produces useful energy when it undergoes a chemical or nuclear reaction. Coal, wood, oil, petrol or gas provides energy when burned so we consider them fuel. But as we all know fuel is not man made and it occurs only naturally so its judicious use is much more needed not for today but for future generation too. We do not need fuel only to run our vehicles only but it needs to run our life and better environment too. Fuel shortages keep occurring in the world from time to time. Most countries have to import fuel to meet their needs.
Fossil fuels like coal and oil and gas are nonrenewable resources. In other words, increasing usage depletes their presence within the earth. So there will come a time when they will no longer be available. The answer is to develop alternative and renewable sources or to use our natural resources judiciously. In spite of the development of non-conventional energy resources, the general populace is still apprehensive about their use along with natural oil and gas, chiefly because of their low energy value and inconvenience in using them.
We should Save Fuel for Better Environment and Health. Now how saving fuel can leads to a better environment and health well here is the answer. Industrialization, machinery and faster modes of transport have become a way of life and symbols of prosperity. They use a whole lot of oil and gas every day however we are so keenly bent on development that we have closed our eyes to the larger picture that development has no meaning without support from natural reserves and thus they have to undergo a sustainable development and not one at the cost of each other.
Our environment is being affected due to combustion of fuels by the automotive. The automobiles run on petrol or diesel, the automotive burn the fuels to run the automobiles .The burned fuels are released into the environment, this released smoke or burned fuels are depleting the Ozone layer of the earth. Due to the depletion of Ozone layer, Greenhouse effect is taking place and the earth is getting heated up and burning from inside. These all are affecting our health badly. At the same time though it is also bad for the environment and the more petrol we use the more emissions we create. It is high time that humanity was off of fossil fuels and use alternative sources of it. To have a great impact on our health and the environment isn’t an easy task. But if we are motivated and really want to adjust our lifestyle in order to develop positive habits, and to do our part to change the negative trends against the environment and save Fuel deposit, this is a must. Saving fuel for the future is therefore an urgent necessity
How to Save Fuel for Better Environment and Health
Today we all are in a race to waste our natural resources just because of our negligence and ignorance. Not only petrol or diesel but all other types of fuel such as natural gas, propane and oil are going to vanish very soon. Here we are with some tips on Save Fuel for Better Environment and Health.
While driving your vehicle slow down speed and stick to the speed limit as speed speeds up the consumption of fuel thereby reducing the fuel economy. Avoid using too much of clutch and unnecessarily as this would lead to the extra consumption of fuel. Turn off the air conditioner when driving around the city. A proper maintenance of our car is also essential. Clean the engine oil after a certain mileage as dirty engine oils can cause internal engine friction and lead to the wastage of fuel. Cooking and heating fuels can also be saved at home. Switch of the electrical appliances when not in use. Use good quality of electric wires that not only save electricity but also cut your electricity bill too.
You can also save fuel in the kitchen by cooking efficiently. Covering pans keeps the heat in the pan, cooking the food. Not heating more water than you need also saves propane.
Saving Fuel for Better Health and Environment
Blue skies and green grass; we cannot have as long as we use excess of gas! The aftermath and fallout of the excessive use of fossil fuels has already affected man adversely. Our environment is like a gigantic balloon of transparent layer of life-supporting pure gases in which we have our being. When this balloon was created it was filled with pure wholesome gases. However, man has filled this pure balloon with black and poisonous smoke by the burning fossil fuels. Man, the foolish and reckless creature, seems to have forgotten that his very existence depends on this balloon.
Man's perception about the indispensability of the environment must change, otherwise the balloon will burst and his own existence will end with it. It is a known fact that carbon dioxide, released during fossil fuel emission, is one of the primary gas responsible for global warming. Rising temperature of earth has resulted in abnormal thawing of polar ice caps; flooding of low lying areas and rise in sea levels. In such conditions planet Earth might face some serious consequences in near future.
Apart from CO2, many other toxic gases such as Sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, arsenic, lead, cadmium, and mercury emissions damage not only the environment, but also pose serious health hazards such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder or COPD and lung cancer to people. Long-term exposure may increase respiratory infections in general population. Fuel conservation is a must to keep health and environmental hazards at bay.
Sagacious and frugal use of fossil fuels is the direst need of the hour. Replacing fossil fuels with clean fuels is the only solution to the problem. People and the Governments of all the countries must start using renewable sources of energy.
The present rate at which the fossil fuels are being used is quite alarming. There won't be left anything for the coming generations. Now the question arises; "Are we to leave a planet totally devoid of fossil fuels to the coming generations?" We will be called highly selfish generation, if we don't leave fuels for the future generations. We need to put our acts together. We must follow the principles of sustainable development. After all it is our responsibility to bequeath a healthy and prosperous planet. Being parents it is our moral responsibility. Let's take care of our planet and use the fossil fuels wisely and frugally!
