Swachhta means cleanliness and purity. I like swachhta to be part of my life. But swachhta in my life is dependent on others too. It is not like my exam score, which depends on my performance only. That is why I am worried about swachhta.
We all live in a common environment. It includes everything natural around us. It includes water, air, living beings, trees etc. I want to drink clean water, breathe clean air and live in a swachh world. Because if they are not clean, I can fall sick and even die. I am sure no one wants that.
Defecating in public allows breeding and feeding of insects (flies) and harmful bacteria. It stinks too. Those insects or bacteria may infect me. Urinating in public too spreads stink and is harmful. In my school and village, I want good sanitation and latrines.
Ignorant people wash clothes in drinking water bodies (rivers, canals, lakes..) or near wells. They mix soap and dirt into water. I fall sick and down with fever due to water pollution.
If we allow rainwater to stagnate, harmful bacteria and viruses spread. My nose runs loose and I run fever. Some of my fellow students wear dirty clothes. I do get allergy.
Children are ignorant. Adults are careless. All litter everywhere. People throw garbage on roads, in front of houses, in parks and public places. They rot, stink and produce harmful viruses and bacteria. There is a garbage bin in the street on the way to school. I hate to pass by breathing in the stink everyday. People throw garbage outside the bin too.
My mother and grandmother tell me life is very beautiful. I am a princess. I will live like a princess when I grow up. If I grow up amidst of uncleanliness, I won't even be a healthy citizen. So it all depends on swachhta. I need swachhta. Not only me, We all Need it.
Swachhta is My Need, to Live in Our World,
For your darling child, Surely You Can Provide.
