WATER CRISIS IN MAHARASHTRA
There has been acute water crisis in Maharashtra, India has devastated the people in the area as a result of a drought that has hit the area. There are extremely high temperatures and farmers or agriculturalists are at the risk of losing their agricultural produce as the crops have withered.
Human health has also become a threat as many people have been reported in health facilities with cases of diarrhoea and gastritis that has resulted due to contamination of the little water that is available.
In the case of dealing with the water crisis, the Ministry of Forestry and Environment should work hand in hand in ensuring that the situation of Maharashtra is dealt with accordingly through the provision of civic education to enlighten the masses on the importance of keeping the environment protected and planting more trees that will culminate and act as wind breakers to reduce erosion.
