Although we spend our every night under the sky, but recently I got an opportunity to literally see the beauty and grandeur of night sky during a camping. My friends had made a trekking expedition to the mountains and took me along. The expedition included staying in a camp on a mountain top.
After 6 hour long trek we reached the camping site on the mountain from where the vistas of breath-taking beauty could be seen. We pitched our tents; we lit out fire; and as it grew dark, the night-sky beauty emerged from the veil of light. I was amazed at the splendor of the night sky. Millions of stars and planets twinkled like diamonds in the dark empty space. I had never seen so many stars and heavenly beauty in the city on account of pollution and artificial light.
The glow from these heavenly bodies was so much that I could see almost everything in their faint light. From the camp site I could see the reflection of the moon in the river flowing in the valley. Our camp had transparent canopy and as I lay I kept looking at the magnificence of stars and the night sky.
Next morning I woke up fully refreshed; I felt the deep sleep I enjoyed had been triggered by the beauty of the night sky.
