Something in the Cupboard
Strange experiences keep happening in our life that keep reminding us there are many things beyond our control and range of understanding. One such experience happened with me lately. I was alone at home as the family had gone to attend a wedding function. They were to come late.
I was sitting in my room, watching TV. I had locked all the doors and the gate as my parents had the second key with them. I was enjoying my favorite movie ‘Gravity’. Suddenly, I was startled by a clamor in my cupboard. I got terribly scared. I tried to pay no attention to it. I refocused my attention on the movie. After a few moments, the clamor again scared me to death. Now, I got more panicky. I called my father and said, ‘Father, there is something in my cupboard, which is moving frequently, what should I do?” The father replied, “Don’t panic; we will open it when we return.”
However, I could not be peaceful. I kept thinking about the noise in the cupboard. Mustering up all my courage I opened the cupboard. To my utter surprise and consternation, a smoke-like figure whooshed out of it and formed into Casper, the ghost. It said smilingly, “Don’t be afraid. I am a friendly ghost, come to give you company until your parents return.”
I had a wonderful time with him until my parents returned. And then I told them everything.
