essay on voice of the earth

Voice of Earth
The Earth, our beloved planet, who supports abundant life on it, is in danger of collapse. Verdant valleys and meadows where lambs and kids used to frisk and frolic have been converted into barren wilderness. The brooks, streams and rivers that flowed down the slopes merrily, have been choked with garbage and their pure potable water turned into toxic poison. Where are the green meadows, arbours, green-belts, forests, pastures and terraced fields? Where is the pure blue sky with cotton-like cirrus flitting merrily high above?
The cankers of urbanization and industrialization have converted the once
heaven like towns and cities into hell. The sylvan beauty, which one could see
in the suburbs, has been replaced by factories and mills. The skyline that once
was dominated by tall trees is an ugly sight of stacks spewing toxic fumes!
The clear rills, rivers, lakes and brooks that were picnic spots have been
converted into drainage channels, carrying effluents to the river, which has
become a bigger channel carrying the muck to the sea! The entire world is
losing its beauty and purity. Earth, our planet that gives us life and to
uncountable animal and plant species, is crying and wailing like a dying
patient! The earth is lamenting: “Save me if you can; why do you forget that
with me you will die also.”
The mankind, a silent witness to this ugly transformation is waiting for some angel to come down and do the cleaning, preserving, and pollution managing! No angel will come for our help. We have created this hell, we ourselves will have to restore and reclaim its lost purity and beauty!
Then there are harmful gasses which are being emitted by the refrigerators and AC's and they are depleting the ozone layer, the ozone layer is the layer which helps prevent the harmful rays from the sun entering into the Earth. And air pollution being caused because of the cars and open garbage causes diseases like asthma in humans, and animals and effects the metabolism process in the plants. Noise pollution causes insomnia and heart disease in humans. Because of the pollution being around the deforestation is also resulting in order to meet the needs of the people the deforestation leads to less rainfall which in return leads to less production of food.
But we can repay the Earth by being considerate towards it and also being determined towards removing this problem of pollution by disposing of the materials properly and also by using the recyclable products again for the production of different products.
Every human being living on this planet should be determined towards protecting the Earth from deterioration, maybe one person's help may be nothing but we all can unite together in order to save the Earth from destruction.
