Nepal is rich in natural resources and it is second richest having highly potential in term of water resources. There are more than 6000 riversand rivulets including big and small. The economic development of the country depends on how water has been utilized. There are mainly two types of water resources. They are :-
1.Surface Water Resources
Surface water is any water that collects on the surface of the earth. This includes oceans, seas, lakes, rivers, or wetlands. Fresh surface water is maintained by rainfall or other precipitation, and it's lost through seepage through the ground, evaporation, or use by plants and animals.
2.Underground Water Resources
Groundwater is the water found underground in the cracks and spaces in soil, sand and rock. It is stored in and moves slowly through geologic formations of soil, sand and rocks called aquifers.
