One great way for anyone who has a garden to help nature conservation, is to have a garden pond. This will attract all sorts of wildlife that need freshwater habitats for their survival. Frogs, toads and newts are increasingly threatened in the world today, and anywhere they can live and breed is very important for their continued survival. Even a small pond will attract some of these fascinating creatures. Dragonflies and water beetles will also find any garden pool, and you may even get visits from birds like the heron, on the lookout for food.

Leaving an area to grow wild flowers and long grasses is also a great way of helping our wildlife to survive. One excellent weed to grow is the stinging nettle. Grow a patch of these plants and you provide the food-plant for the caterpillars of many butterfly species, including the small tortoiseshell and the peacock. Having a butterfly bush in your garden will provide nectar for moths, butterflies and other pollinators, as well as a splash of attractive colour.

hope helps ☺️☺️☺️
