To me, Norris’ essay is a good reminder that sometimes the things we look at negatively are blessings in disguise. The rain that makes driving miserable and ruins outdoor barbecues is also the rain that brings us the delightful flowers we look forward to after a long winter. Everything has its pros and cons, and sometimes we take things for granted because we’re too let down by the cons. It’s important to remember that “everyone wants happiness, nobody wants pain, but you can’t have a rainbow without a little rain.”
