Essay writing -Role of vigilance in the day to day life
Answers
Role of Vigilance
Building a new India is almost impossible as long as there is the cancer of corruption in it. Corruption is an obstacle that the people of a country must overcome to be a happy nation. The national goals of economic prosperity, infrastructural development, and overall advancement will remain elusive until corruption is wiped out from our country. Eliminating corruption is impossible without the collective will of the people and the Government.
In order to curb corruption, the Government has established Central Vigilance Commission under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 by certain categories of public servants of the Central Government. The CVC has the following roles and functions:
1. To investigate any charges/complaint against any Public Servant.
2. To Review the progress of investigations.
3. Give advice to the Central Government and its organizations about the matters referred to it.
The common people must have the knowledge about the functioning of CVC. Corruption can be curbed by bringing the corrupt practices to the CVC. Online complaint can be lodged with CVC at http://portal.cvc.gov.in/cvproject/.
The term vigilance is self explanatory in a way. It means the observatory action over the staunch obedience of laws made by the governing bodies.
In day to day life and practical situations it is potentially impossible to enact some laws and make the people follow it for their own betterment without a certain vigilante Functioning to do so. Hooliganism sometimes proves to be triumphant over the obedience, these people drunk with disorderedliness and disorganized misbehaviours often end up disrupting the peace of the nation altogether . Hence vigilance is obvious and essential.
