Global warming is one of the most important issues facing the
world today. Countries all around the globe are feeling the effects of
current global warming trends. It is not a problem that can be blamed on
one person or nation, but instead a crisis that everyone should take a
moment to reflect on. Over the past century the planet has warmed up
significantly. Scientists have studied how fast the earth the earth is
heating up, and have seen the effects it has on agriculture and the
climate. In fact, over the past couple years, several current figures
and trends have shown a rise in sea levels, the melting of ice caps, and
the substantial increase in natural disasters and climate changes. All
these seem to be directly related to global warming and its impact on
the planet. The effects of global warming are tremendous, and if people
do not begin to do something about it, global warming could lead to the
end of the world as we know it. In this paper I plan to cover the
effects of global warming, as well as how mankind contributes to it. The
paper will also include ways to reduce global warming and how simple
changes to one’s lifestyle could benefit everyone.
One must first get a good understanding of the global warming as a whole before going into depth about its effects. Global warming is the “observed and projected increase in globally averaged temperatures over time” (Global Warming FAQ). Scientists have been able to measure the warming of the earth through satellites and surface stations. From these measurements the scientists have identified an increasing trend in surface air temperature over the past years. In fact, over the past 15 years, scientists have recorded the hottest decade and the top three hottest years ever documented. They reported that 1990 was the warmest decade ever, while 1998 was the hottest year since the 1860’s. In our current decade, 2001 was the second hottest year on record. Experts have no doubt tha..

Due to greenhouse effect, the earth's average temperature has risen by 1degree Celsius in the last 50 years. Scientists have predicted that if the concentration of greenhouse gases keeps on increasing and the temperature of the earth's surface increases by 3-6 degree Celsius, the polar ice caps and glaciers will melt.
The enormous quantity of water thus produced will raise the sea level and will cause destruction all around.
Some of the effects of global warming are;
1 Increase in earth's surface temperature.
2 Melting of glaciers and polar ice caps.
3 Rise in the sea level which will lead to flooding of low lying and coastal areas.
