A secret parallel government was approved and installed under President Ronald Reagan about which not even members of Congress were informed. As later reported in the Washington Post and on CBS News, this parallel government was actually activated shortly after 9/11 to the great surprise of journalists and leading members of Congress. Yet very few citizens to this day are aware of its ongoing existence.
