Initial volume of water in the container = 30ml

After adding a solid vol. became=> 50ml

Thus by Archimedes principle;

Thus by Archimedes principle;Volume added = volume displaced.

Thus volume displaced =

  • New vol. - original vol.
  • 50 - 30
  • 20ml

Thus vol. of solid = 20ml

We know that 1cm³ = 1ml

Thus volume of the solid = 20cm³
