A car travels from A to B and returns to its original position.
The distance between A and B is 2000 m.
(0) Find the total displacement of the car. ☺
(1) The car takes 5 min to travel from A to B but takes 8 min to travel back
from B to A. Is the speed of the caf greater while going from A to B or while
travelling back from B to A?
ill) When can the magnitude of distance and displacement be equal for a body
in motion?

Explanation:

(1) DISPLACEMENT =DISTANCE BETWEEN START AND END POINT OF ANY BODY.

SO

TOTAL DISPLACEMENT OF CAR = 0

BECAUSE CAR RETURNED TO THE SAME PLACE

(2) SPEED OF CAR WHEN CAR GO FROM A TO B= DISTANCE(2000m)÷TIME(5min)

(S1) = 2000÷5×60

(S1) = 2000÷300

(S1) =20/3

(S1) =80/12

AND NOW SPEED OF CAR WHEN CAR RETURNED FROM B TO A (S2)

SPEED = DISTANCE÷TIME

(S2) =2000÷8×60

(S2) =2000/480

(S2) =25/12

THEREFORE WE FIND THAT SPEED OF CAR IS GREATER WHILE GOING FROM A TO B.

(3) THE MAGNITUDE OF SPEED AND DISPLACEMENT BE EQUAL FOR A BODY IN MOTION WHEN BODY MOVES IN A STRAIGHT PATH IN ONE DIRECTION.
