Explanation:

Answer:sri lanka is an island nation. It has 2 crore people.

The major social groups are the sinhala-speakers comprising about 74% of the population.

The tamil-speakers are sub divided into 2 groups. Tamil natives of the country are called Sri Lankan Tamils which compromise 13% of the population.forefathers who came from india as plantation workers during the colonial period are called Indian Tamils which compromise 5% of the population. Tamil-speakers as whole (including both sub divisions) compromise 18% of the population.

Most of the sinhala speakers are buddhist while most of the tamils are hindus or muslims.

There are about 7% christians who are both tamil and sinhala.
