Etty, max, robert and luke were all given 7 easter eggs each. Betty stepped on two of hers, max gave 5 of his away to his parent, robert broke 4 of his and luke ate all but one of his. At the end of the day, assuming all of the children ate all the eggs that were whole, how many eggs were consumed between the children?

Robert broke 4                      he has 3 left

therefore 17 eggs were eaten at the end of the day
